The owner and principal of Giraffe is Nicoletta Toumazi, an enthusiastic and vibrant young woman who has always enjoyed being around children. Nicoletta graduated from the University of Bristol in July 2015 having acquired a Bachelor of Science Degree in Childhood Studies with First Class Honours.
Nicoletta’s background in music and dance combined with her work experience with young children in various nursery schools in Cyprus and the UK during the last ten years enable her to interact with them in a creative and expressive way.
The deputy principal of Giraffe is Maria-Christina Lefkati, a caring early years teacher with great love for children. She graduated from Intercollege in 2004 having acquired a Bachelor Degree in Pre-Primary Education.
Maria-Christina’s very pleasant and bubbly personality and her 20 years of experience in several nursery schools and kindergartens with children of different age groups provide her with many of the qualities necessary to be a successful early years educator.

Christiana Stylianou (Early Years Teacher)
Teaching has always been Christiana’s passion. She started her journey at the University of Aegean in July 2011 where she acquired a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Planning and Design. She continued her studies with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Cyprus.
During the past years she has been working with children helping them achieve their goals and dreams through play and teaching. She believes that if a surgeon can save the life of a child, a great teacher can reach the heart of that child and allow him/her to truly live, learn, achieve his/her dreams and create a better future.
Elena Ioannou (Early Years Teacher)
Elena is an enthusiastic and self motivated early years teacher. She graduated from the University of the West of England in 2015, having acquired a Bachelor degree in Education and Early Childhood Studies. Elena was born and raised in the UK.
Her unique, creative and ambitious personality combined with several years of work in the UK have given her the skills and provided her with valuable experiences when working with children in their early years.
She believes that having the ability to teach children is the most rewarding and satisfying job, as the early years are the most crucial for a child's overall development.
Elena Avraamidou (Early Years Teacher)
Elena is an early childhood teacher who loves being with children. Elena graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University UK in 2017.
She loves being surrounded by children and enjoys working with them in an exciting and enthusiastic way. Her pleasant and playful personality as well as all the experiences she has gained from her previous active involvement in the ‘Young Volunteers’ organisation in Cyprus enable her to work and interact with children in a unique way.
Lia Chakka (Early Years Teacher)
Evangelia Chakka obtained her bachelors degree in Early Childhood studies in 2008 from Derby University. Since she graduated she has worked in various childcare settings, nursery schools in the UK and Cyprus, after school clubs, holiday crèche care in France and summer camps as a volunteer are amongst a few. During the past four years she has worked as a private nanny.
She is energetic and always fun to be with, passionate about her work, always eager to learn and improve herself. She loves to sing, dance and create art with children as she thinks it is a fantastic way of expressing feelings and increase their imagination. She believes and promotes independency and resilience, characteristics which help children build strong personalities and become self confident.
Anastasia Aristodemou (Early Years Teacher Assistant)
Anastasia graduated from the Cyprus University of Technology in 2015 having acquired a degree in Agricultural Science Biotechnology and Food Science.
During the last three years she has worked in several organisations and had to deal with a variety of different people and personalities. She has realised that she enjoys communicating and interacting with children the most. Her hard-working, responsible, loving and mature personality equips her with the qualities needed when working with young children.
Our Giraffe Chef is Sylvia Michaelidou.
Sylvia comes to our nursery every day and freshly prepares food for all our children. The love she shares for children is what inspires her to prepare delicious, healthy and children-friendly meals!
Our Giraffe Caretaking Team consists of Eleni Eleftheridi, Marina Haliou and Athina Schpazidou.
Their kind, pleasant and joyful personalities fill the nursery with positive energy. Their willingness, commitment and perseverance in fulfilling all their responsibilities make them fundamental members of our Giraffe Nursery Team.
